Geological evolution over millions of years has arranged this landscape in such a way that today it is an area of outstanding natural beauty and a perfect place for a day's adventure. BIKING-1 “The best of the backcountry” 4-5 hrs. MTB tour – 30km
Grading: 
Come along on a nature adventure on mountain bikes, to the backcountry east of Lake Myvatn. We cycle through steaming grounds and volcanic rocks, explore craters and fissures. Our path is of all grades, asphalt, grass, dirt, lava and sand so be ready for a true adventure. It is essential that you bring water and lunch with you as we are truly in the backcountry.

BIKING-2 Evening tour “Bike & bath” ~2,5 hrs. MTB tour – 10km
Grading:
Join us for an easy evening tour on mountain bikes. On our way we cycle to the breadholes and the old steam baths in Jardbadsholar, we visit the fissure of Grjótagjá before we get to the Myvatn Naturebath for an hour of relaxing bath in the warm water and natural steambath.

BIKING-3 “Land of the lava” 4 day MTB adventure – approx. 200km
Grading: / 
Real MTB adventure of the back country to the north. We cycle through no mans land, exploring the tectonical plate boundaries between the American plate and the Eurasia plate. We spend a day in the National Park of Jökulsárgljúfur, visiting Hljóðaklettar (echo cliffs) and Ásbyrgi. On our way back to Myvatn we cycle through amazing landscape and experience sleeping in a real mountain hut far away from civilization. Our path is of all grades, asphalt, grass, dirt, lava and sand so be ready for a true adventure four days in a row.
Highlights: Víti crater, lava formations, fissures, Echo cliffs, Jökulsá National Park, Ásbyrgi, Þeistareykir Hot spring area, pitch black lava crossing.

BIKING-4 "Myvatn Naturally" 4(6) day luxury activity tour

Myvatn "Naturally" is a good combination of luxury and action. Staying at a 4 star hotel with full board, spending the days in action hiking & biking in the beautiful nature around Lake Myvatn and relaxing at the end of each day in the Myvatn Naturebath.

2011 - Spring - May 4-9, May 11-16, May 18-23, May 25-30 2011 - Autumn - September 7-12, September 14-19, September 21-26, September 28-October 3 Participants should arrive at Lake Myvatn (277 m above sea level) the day before tour starts, check in to Hotel Reynihlíd anytime after lunch, accommodation included. At 18:00 Welcoming drink and meeting with the local guide. Short description of the days ahead. Dinner at Restaurant Myllan in hotel, included in price. Breakfast buffet 9:00 departure for todays action - Cycling tour around Lake Myvatn (36km) and climbing Mt. Vindbelgur on the way (529m). 5-6hrs. Relaxation in the Myvatn Naturebath before dinner at hotel. Breakfast buffet 9:00 departure for todays action - Cycling to the top of Mt. Námafjall (432m, 8km), from there we hike to the hotspring area of Hverir before we cycle back down the mountainroad through the steaming hills of Jardbadshólar were we look at ruins of old steambath and the caves of Grjótagjá were people used to bathe in the old days. Relaxing afternoon in the Naturebath, possible to book a massage if wanted. Dinner at hotel. Breakfast buffet 9:00 departure for todays action - Hiking along the Eldá lava river, formed in the eruption 1729, to the volcanic area of Krafla Volcano. After we have explored bubbling hotsprings and pitch black lava our bikes are waiting for us and we cycle down the valley back home. 5-6hrs. Relaxation in the Myvatn Naturebath before dinner at hotel. Breakfast buffet 9:00 departure for todays action - Cycling to Dimmuborgir "the dark castles" (6km). Here we leave the bikes and go on foot through the dark castles and learn about the trolls around. From the Dimmuborgir area we hike to the crater of Hverfjall/fell and then on to the village of Reykjahlid to our hotel. Relaxing afternoon in the Naturebath, possible to book a massage. Dinner at hotel. Breakfast buffet. Departure - time to say goodbye ! Accommodation in 4 star hotel, full board, daily guidance on tours, bike and helmet, access to the Myvatn Naturebath everyday.
